In Symmetrix Integration with VMware vSphere training course, you will acquire hands-on experience integrating EMC Symmetrix V-MAX storage systems with VMware vSphere vCenter and ESXi host. You will learn to provision, manage, migrate, replicate, and protect the VMware vSphere/Symmetrix V-MAX environment. You will also cover new integration technologies between VMware and EMC technologies, including storage pool management, Storage I/O Control, vStorage API for Array Integration (VAAI), EMC Virtual Storage Integrator (VSI), PowerPath/VE, and EMC SRDF technology.
By attending Symmetrix Integration with VMware vSphere workshop, delegates will learn to:
- Prepare EMC Symmetrix V-MAX Storage system for VMware ESXi host
- Install and configure EMC PowerPath/VE on ESXi for FC failure protection and load balancing
- Install and configure an SMC Server (VM)
- Deploy and configure an SMC virtual appliance
- Install and configure EMC Virtual Storage Integrator for VMware vSphere: Storage Viewer, SPM, and PP/VE
- Storage best practices for ESXi host in a Symmetrix V-Max environment
- Provision storage from a Symmetrix V-Max to an ESXi host and to a virtual machine
- Use Storage vMotion to migrate a virtual machine to Symmetrix V-Max storage
- Provision storage to the ESXi host and to the virtual machine using EMC Storage Pool Management
- Demonstrate VMware vStorage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI) features with Symmetrix-VMAX
- Attend a training on VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage or equivalent knowledge.
