The Dell EqualLogic PS Series training course provides the opportunity to perform and master the tasks required to operate and manage the advanced features that are included in the PS Series Storage Array. This includes the Data Protection features of Auto Snapshot Manager, synchronous and asynchronous replication, managing pools, firmware updates, using clones, thin clones and snapshots. Also included are discussions on how to protect Hyper-V and SharePoint environments. You will install and configure the PS Series array using the Remote Setup Wizard as well as monitor the array group with the Dell EqualLogic SAN Headquarters performance and monitoring tool.
You will also learn to effectively use PS Series Storage in VMware environments and implement VMware integration tools including Virtual Storage Manager for VMware (VSM/VE) in order to build an efficient and fully optimized storage environment. Discussions on design considerations when deploying PS Series Storage in a vSphere environment are supplemented with hands-on exercises in order to provide practical knowledge and real-world experience prior to deploying in a live environment, resulting in less downtime.
By attending Dell EqualLogic PS Series workshop, delegates will learn to:
- Configure MPIO with EqualLogic Host Integration Tools
- Create snapshots and recover files or volumes from snapshots
- Configure multi-member groups and storage pools
- Update firmware
- Install, configure and use SAN Headquarters
- Configure and perform asynchronous replication between two groups
- Configure and perform synchronous replication between two pools in a single group
- Use Auto Snapshot Manager (ASM) to create and perform recovery of files and volumes from snapshots, clones and replicas with Smart Copies
- Describe how ASM is used to protect and recover: ,MS SQL databases, MS Exchange mail groups and mailboxes, Hyper-V virtual machines, SharePoint environments
- The key components of the vSphere environment that interact with the EqualLogic SAN environment
- The setup requirements for using iSCSI volumes on ESX servers
- How to create and present PS Series volumes to Guest VMs
- How to install the Multipath Extension Module (MEM)
- How to use the PS Series data protection features in a VMware environment
- How the Dell EqualLogic Host Integration Tools for VMware are used
- How Dell EqualLogic Virtual Storage Manager for VMware is used to: Protect and recover VMs, Manage Datastores, Deploy VDI desktops, Configure VASA
- vSphere API for Array Integration (VAAI)
